Advanced Product Options

Once a product has been created, you’re able to fine-tune many important details. Advanced Product Options offers many ways to customize your product lines and bring attention to the most important features of each potential purchase.

Providing Wine Attributes

Lots of customers love to know the nitty-gritty details of their favorite bottles. The type, appellation, varietals, vintage, and region play a major role in their buying decision. You can add these details while creating a wine bottle product, or while editing after one has been saved.

  1. From the Products page, click a wine bottle product or create a product and choose Wine Bottle as the type.
  2. Click the Attributes tab for an existing bottle, or scroll down to find Wine Attributes when creating a product.
  3. If this is your first time adding attributes, you can create Bottle Sizes, Wine Types, Varietals, Regions, and Appellations by selecting Add new. Otherwise, enter all of the information you want to include about your wine.
  4. Enter the number of Bottles In Case, Vintage, and Alcohol percentage.
  5. Click Save.

Creating Variant SKUs

When it comes to apparel, one size rarely fits all. If you offer branded shirts, pants, or jacket, you can create Variant SKUs that represent different sizing options.

  1. From the Products page, click on the item that you want to edit. Click SKUs & Pricing.
  2. Under Variant SKUs, click Add Variant.
  3. Add a SKU, Unit Description, Weight, and applicable prices. Select any exemptions that might apply.
  4. Use UPC Code to add a barcode and make the item scannable.
  5. Click Save.

Adding Purchase Options

By enabling additional purchase options with each product, you can control how and how much your customers buy from you online or at your winery.

  1. From the Products page, click on the item that you want to edit. Click SKUs & Pricing > Show Advanced.
  2. Use the minimum, maximum, or multiples to control the size of orders. Enable loyalty points if you want to allow customers to use points towards their purchase.
  3. Click Save.

Adding a Product Badge

Any time you win an award, it is a massive achievement. Customers that are interested in sampling the best also look for badges as an indicator of what to buy.

  1. From the Admin Panel, click Store > Products > Product Badges. Click the +.
  2. Enter the name of your badge or award, and upload a photo of the accreditation.
  3. Click Save.

Now that you’ve got a badge to celebrate your product’s status, you can put it on display.

  1. From the Products page, click the item that will display the badge.
  2. Click the Advanced tab and select your badge from Product Badge.
  3. Click Save.

Customizing Search Engine Optimization

To ensure customers can easily find your products from the search engine of their choice, you can edit the metadata details about each product.

  1. From the Products page, click on the item that you want to optimize. Find Search Engine Optimization and click Edit.
  2. Edit the URL or Page Title to accurately reflect your product.
  3. Enter the Page Description that will appear in search results.
  4. Click Save next to the Search Engine Optimization title.

Adding Related Products

When a customer is investigating one of your products, it’s a great opportunity to show them similar products that might spark interest. Similar to product sets, Related Products display as a clickable thumbnail on the product's detail page.

  1. From the Products page, click on the item you want to edit. Click Related Products.
  2. Use the search field to add related products to be displayed.
  3. Once you’re happy with your list of related products, click Save.

Specializing Shipping Strategy

If you prefer a specific shipping strategy for a product, you can update the product's strategy once there are multiple strategies available.

  1. From the Products page, click on the item you want to edit. Click the Advanced tab.
  2. Under Shipping, use the dropdown to choose your preferred Shipping Strategy.
  3. You can choose to bypass the fulfillment process and set a specific ship date.
  4. Click Save.

Arranging Products on POS

If you need to reorder the layout of products on your POS, you can easily move them within the POS Categories section.

  1. From the Admin Panel, click Store > Products > POS Categories.
  2. Select one of your existing categories to edit.
  3. Under Manage Products, click and drag your products to rearrange their order.
  4. Click Save.

Enabling Spirits and Beer

If your winery currently creates their own spirits, brews beer, or offers either in their tasting room, you have the option to enable Spirits and Beer as a product type when creating a product

  1. From the Admin Panel, click Settings > Web Settings. In the window, select the Products tab.
  2. Use the checkboxes to enable Spirits or Beer, or both.
  3. Click Save.

The next time you go to create a product, you'll have the option to create a spirit or beer product with all of the relevent details.

Adding a Brand

Regardless of how whether you sell wine, apparel, or merchandise, you can use Brands to help organize the products you sell. Each time you create a product, you'll have the chance to add a new brand that will be saved and can be applied to other products. Otherwise, brands can be added through your Admin Panel.

  1. In the Admin Panel, navigate to Store > Products, and select Product Brands from the dropdown.
  2. Click +.
  3. Assign a name and enter the description of your brand. If you're ready for this brand to go live immediately, set the status to Active.
  4. Click Save.

To apply a brand to an existing product:

  1. Head to your product page by clicking Store > Products. Select the product you want to brand.
  2. From the Product Brand drop down, select the brand you want to apply to the product.
  3. Click Save.
