IMPORTANT NOTE: Email Campaigns require the WineDirect x Twilio Sendgrid integration.
WineDirect Email campaigns target and allow the creation of personalized marketing efforts that leverage the power of email to deliver relevant messages and nurture customer relationships.
Access Email Campaigns in WineDirect under Marketing > Email Campaigns
By clicking the '+ ADD EMAIL' button at the top right of the Email Campaign main page, a new window will open to create a new campaign.
Email Campaign Settings
These settings will be an email campaign's who, what, where, and why.
Field | Function |
Email Name | The name given to a campaign will appear in the Email Campaigns section of the WineDirect dashboard. |
Email Template | This is where a Dynamic Template created within SendGrid will be selected and previewed. |
From | This is where a Sender that has been created in SendGrid will be selected |
Reply To | This is the default 'From' email address associated with the selected Sender. |
Subject Line | The subject line that customers will see when receiving the email campaign |
Recipients | A choice of a created Customer Segment and/or members of a specific Wine Club. |
Unsubscribe Group | This is where Unsubscribe Groups created in SendGrid will be selected. |
Categories | Custom categories that are created by users in WineDirect through the dropdown menu. These are used to organize Email Campaigns within WineDirect. |
IMPORTANT NOTE: If a Customer Segment exceeds 10,000 recipients, WineDirect will break up the email campaign into multiple sends. This ensures that a single send will not exceed 10,000 recipients (i.e., if there are 100,000 recipients in a chosen segment, then WineDirect will automatically create ten sends with 10,000 recipients in each).
Customization
Personalize email campaigns by leveraging WineDirect data. Currently, campaign customization is limited to Customer data.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The name of any customization must match exactly the text within a Handlebar of the selected template. If Customer: First Name is selected as the value, the name in Email Campaigns must be first_name, and the handlebar within the SendGrid template would be {{first_name}}.
Schedule Settings
To schedule an email campaign, click the 'SCHEDULE' button at the top right of the Campaign history section. Emails can be scheduled up to 72 hours before sending or sent immediately after creation by clicking the 'SEND NOW' button next to the 'SCHEDULE' button.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Once an email campaign is scheduled, it cannot be canceled.
To save an Email Campaign as a draft, press the Save button at the bottom of the page.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The scheduled time of a campaign is based on the timezone set for the storefront the email is being created from.
