In the WineDirect point of sale app, it is possible to sign an existing customer up for a wine club in seconds or add a new customer and sign them up for a membership just as quickly.
Adding New Memberships
Pressing the 'Wine Club' tab at the bottom of the point of sale app will open the screen listing all active wine clubs created in the main WineDirect admin account.
Selecting a wine club will open a new window to begin the membership signup process.
Adding or Creating a Customer
Pressing 'Choose Customer' will open a list of all saved customers from the WineDirect main admin account. The search bar or scrolling down are possibilities to find the desired customer. A quick press of the customer's name will instantly add them to the signup page and redirect the user to the original wine club window.
IMPORTANT NOTE: A user can add a new customer by pressing the button next to 'Choose Customer.' Doing so will create a new customer profile in the main WineDirect admin account.
Billing and Shipping Addresses
If a customer's profile has an address saved, it will auto-populate the billing and shipping addresses to whichever address is the default.
Press the 'Billing Address' icon if a new or established customer has no address saved to their profile. This will open a new window where an address can be added, saved, and applied to the membership.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If only one address is added, the destination will automatically be the newly added address.
If a customer has multiple addresses saved to their profile, when either the 'Billing' or 'Destination' icon is selected, whichever name has the purple checkmark next to it is the address selected.IMPORTANT NOTE: The 'Billing' and/or 'Destination' icons will have a dark purple border if an address is acceptable. If the address is incomplete, the icon will have a red border.
Credit Card
A credit card cannot be added or selected in the point of sale wine club signup workflow at this time. This feature will be added in the future.
A customer's wine club membership will be set to a 'Pending' status in the WineDirect main admin account until a credit card is added to their membership there.
Finalizing Membership Signup
The 'Next' or 'Done' button will be disabled until all fields (excluding credit card) are filled.
If a 'Next' button is available, the club has additional pages like Options or Terms and Conditions.
If a 'Done' button is available, a membership does not have optional preferences enabled. By pressing done, the membership will be finalized.
