Commerce7 has acquired WineDirect’s SaaS division. As part of this transition, WineDirect’s ecommerce platform will be retired in 2 years. On the Classic WineDirect platform, all wineries will need to transition to Fullsteam Payments over the next 6 months.
What are the benefits of Fullsteam Payments?
- Apple Pay/Google Pay on EMV devices
- Improved connectivity from EMV devices
- EMV terminals remain connected throughout the life of the transaction
- WineDirect order numbers will be on the gateway transaction report in MerchantTrack
- Multiple EMV devices to choose from
- Future development within Commerce7 around Fullsteam Payments, meaning that switching your gateway will provide an easier stepping stone for your final transition to Commerce7
What To Expect
Fortis Pay (USAePay/Zeamster) and other payment gateways will eventually become incompatible with Classic WineDirect. Wineries will have the opportunity to transition to Fullsteam Payments, ensuring a smoother, more secure payment experience while continuing to use Classic WineDirect for their Ecommerce solutions.
You may choose to remain on the Classic WineDirect platform for up to 2 years. Our dedicated payment migration teams are working diligently to ensure a seamless migration to Fullsteam Payment Gateway systems.
What is Fullsteam Payments?
Fullsteam Payments is a gateway and processor package. Fullsteam payments provides recurring payments, card swipe or EMV transactions, ACH, online checks, omni-channel token capture, mobile payments, in-browser cloud transactions, and constantly evolving technology to meet industry needs.
Fullsteam Payments boasts PCI Level 1 certified technology and was built with security in mind from day one. They ensure transparent pricing and modern terminals to improve your customer experience.
Fullsteam also provides the Fullsteam's Merchant Track portal, which allows you to access additional transactional reporting.
Steps to Migrate to Fullsteam Payments
The migration process can take anywhere from 1-2 weeks in general, considering you stay on top of the requests and provide all the details that are needed during the application process in a timely manner. We will take care of everything internally behind the scenes to make this transition quite smooth for you (credit card migrations and logistics will be taken care of by our team).
- Fill out this form to schedule your switch to Fullsteam Payments.
- Once we receive your form, we’ll be in touch with you about next steps on establishing your payments rate.
- After your rates are confirmed, we will assist you in placing an order for necessary hardware and you will receive an application link. (typically receive the application link within 24 hours)
- Complete your application via the link sent to your email.
- Application review by the underwriting team. Sometimes, additional information is needed, so if you supply that quickly the process will be faster.
- We will contact you to select a date to disconnect your existing Payment Gateway and activate Fullsteam Payments.
- Please note: We recommend keeping your existing Payment Gateway open for about one month after your switch, as orders processed in the previous gateway will also need to be refunded in that same gateway.
- We will coordinate the migration of credit cards from Classic to Fullsteam Payments. Once this process is complete, we’ll reach out to confirm that all credit cards have been successfully migrated.
- We will reach out to ask you to process a test order. This will confirm that everything is flowing to your bank account properly.
- Confirm there are no refunds that need to be processed by the previous provider and deactivate your merchant account from the previous gateway in 30-60 days.
Fees - Fullsteam Payments
Fullsteam Payments offers competitive rates for all transactions that take place through our in-house gateway for our US and Canadian clients. Fill out the formfor more information about rates and fees.
Compatible hardware
You need to purchase or lease a compatible EMV device listed here. Devices acquired via WineDirect Payments or another payment gateway will NOT work for Fullsteam Payments. You will not need to purchase new receipt printers while using Classic WineDirect.
The leasing option is highly recommended. Leasing offers a flexible one-year contract, with the opportunity for renewal, allowing you to upgrade to the latest model each year. This is particularly advantageous as we introduce new EMV devices annually, ensuring you always have access to the most advanced technology. Additionally, leasing includes a lifetime warranty, whereas purchasing typically offers only a one-year warranty.
Cancelling your Existing Payment Gateway
The process of cancelling your existing payment gateway will differ depending on whether you are with WineDirect Payments or another payment gateway. We can provide additional guidance on this process while we assist you with the transition to Fullsteam Payments.
FAQ
Are we required to switch payment gateways?
Yes, the switch is required. In the United States and Canada, Fullsteam Payments is our payment gateway. Benefits include:
- The EMV devices are encrypted at the manufacturer with keys specifically for your winery, making them tamper proof
- The Fullsteam payment gateway tokenizes cards (more secure than how WineDirect handles credit cards today)
Why do we recommend migrating your cards to Fullsteam Payments?
- There is no cost to your business, and the process is completely seamless. You can rest assured that we will handle everything, ensuring there is no disruption to the customer experience—your customers will not even notice any changes.
- By migrating credit cards on file, you ensure that customers' recent purchases and recurring club membership payments continue seamlessly. This transition allows customers to use their existing payment methods without interruption or noticeable changes.
- It's more convenient to manage one gateway instead of two (reporting, etc).
- You will no longer be billed by the old gateway once you cancel their service.
What are gateway statements? Where can I find my payment gateway statements?
Payment Gateway statements are the invoices your payment gateway send you with the credit card fees and any other fees charged to allow for credit card transactions. Here is a quick guide for WineDirect Payments/Fortis Pay customers:
USAePay: https://secure.usaepay.com/login
Zeamster: https://winedirect.zeamster.com/
Do I need to purchase new card readers / EMV devices?
Yes, you will need to lease or purchase Fullsteam specific card readers / EMV devices, as they are keyed at the manufacturer. We only support tap/chip and pin technology. The card readers are highly reliable and can be leased, and have a lifetime warranty during the lease term. Leasing offers a flexible one-year contract, with the opportunity for renewal, allowing you to upgrade to the latest model each year. This is particularly advantageous as we introduce new EMV devices annually, ensuring you always have access to the most advanced technology.
Please note, it will not be possible to re-program VivoPay or any other devices. Fullsteam’s devices are P2PE encrypted which means they are keyed for your account at the factory/manufacturer and are tamper-proof.
Will a tokenized credit card be a part of the automatic credit card updater?
Yes. Fullsteam Payments will pull back into the system the new expiry date, and the new last 4 digits.
What expenses will be covered by Commerce7?
Token export fees, upload fees and project management fees will be covered by Commerce7.
What credit cards will be moved over?
All credit cards currently on file will be transferred/migrated to Fullsteam Payments.
